A friend asked me today, “why is that if God is now so much a part of your life, your still so worn-out all the time, quiet, happy one day, sad the next?” I didn’t think about the answer to that question until I was in my car driving to my next place to be.
I have truly faced more obstacles since I turned my life to God than I ever did when I was going with the current. Trusting and having God in your life is not a free pass to happiness for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. I wasn’t a threat before but now that I am and am doing good things, the judges, critics, and obstacles are everywhere. And it’s exhausting. It wears me out, it makes me quietly withdrawn, and it can steal the happiness from my day.
Buuutttttt… it’s not enough to stop me. Here are the lyrics to say everything I could possibly say about this right now from third verse of my current favorite song:
“It’s a cold cold day in this cold cold world if I live to see another Im’a change this world.
Im’a do my very best Im’a give it all I can Im’a represent the real this is just who I am.
What do you do is the question at hand your quest is to find your direction as a man you can’t rest your mind cause your stressed to find a plan you try to test the line but your connection has been jammed.
So what do you do? What do you do? in this journey of life that you go through problems they so true but don’t let’m make you forsake you or break you treat life as a pill and take two to breakthrough.
Shake haters that hate you don’t contemplate the fate of fake slithering snakes dudes Make moves start piecing your puzzle become a beast when life presents you with the least bit of troubles, the struggles that we face is just a part of our lives you must play your part show your heart to survive then make your mark so you can start to thrive don’t get lost in the dark and hardly survive.
It’s a cold cold day in this cold cold world if I live to see another Im’a change this world.
Im’a do my very best Im’a give it all I can Im’a represent the real this is just who I am.”
It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a song that I can relate to this well. Check it out for yourself below and definitely check out the artist “Supa” at supahiphop.com.
There are men out there that are not afraid to go against the current and stand for something good. “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.”
